I used to do it at The New York Times. Now, I’m doing it here.

“Bring back, ‘I Was Misinformed”,” people told me after that column ended. “Buy a newspaper and hire me,” I said. But no one did, so I’m doing a humor column on Substack. The only gatekeeper is somebody named Wadler. I hear she’ll let me get away with anything.

So welcome — or welcome back. This is going to be fun.

An occasional humor column, much like the one I did at The New York Times, which was called "I Was Misinformed". But now, the only gatekeeper is me. I hear I will let me get away with anything.

Joyce Wadler wrote the “I Was Misinformed” humor column for The New York Times, where she was a reporter for 15 years. She's been a reporter for The Washington Post, New York Magazine and Rolling Stone. She wishes she'd gone into television.
