Should everybody who reads this hilarious post immediately order a copy of The Satyr in Bungalow D? Yes, they should. And when they're done reading it, should they post a glowing review on both Amazon and Good Reads? Yup. I am currently reading The Satyr in Bungalow D and it's a much-needed escape from doomscrolling about the Devil in the White House.
Loved this, and isn't all Yiddish phonetic? I belong to a Yiddish language group on Fbook and I love seeing focus argue over the spelling when, please folks, it's a whole different alphabet. Is that a PEN iss in your pocket....hehehehe. Oy. So meshugah.
Love your writing. Gave me a smile to start my day. I just published a historical novel Moon and Stars over Assisi: The Women Who loved St. Francis. It has four different narration voices so your advice was essential. No AI.
Well, here goes nothing: I’m having a hell of a time trying to network on this damn platform – it would seem that my sunny misanthropy is not to everyone’s (anyone’s) taste. Such is life.
That being said, I am moderately good at reading aloud, and while my Yiddish is a smidge weak, I’m a fast learner and since I am, in fact, human and do possess one of those things you were talking about, there is at the very least a chance that I’ll be able to pronounce that. My ulterior motive would be networking rather than any kind of a fee.
You know it, Hal! Here's Mandy's Yiddish mash-up of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame and God Bless America" building to "SHPIEL BALL!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUpFFG1RLEc

What about Jackie Mason? Sure he’s dead but at least he would pronounce the Yiddish correctly. Thanks for the laugh.

Or am I just being naïve?
Seriously, I can be very naïve sometimes.
I already had an AI robot read my bool. It sounded like me! The audio was nominated for an Emmy. God figure.
Thank you for making me laugh so hard today. I needed that. xo
I second your reply. I now can’t get the word pee NUS out of my head. 🙃
"cassettes"..... talk about the 'WAYYYY BACK MACHINE" right?!!
I vote for Myron Cohen or Menachim Begin, not that anyone remembers, but voices indeed!
Love, love, love! I just ordered the book and can’t wait to read it.
Brilliant! I can't wait to read the book.
