Being a horse woman I could barely read this story and get to a happy ending. I can't ever read anything sad about a horse as too many of them actually end up like Hank. He will make an imaginary come back but so many famous horses are left to rot or get shipped away. Very sensitive issue for me. Go Hank. You're a lucky ficticious boy.
Aw, Hank! We had our moment -- remember when I came out to the barn whilebi was on the rag? Let's just say that wasn't a cellphone in your pocket. You sure were glad to see me!
It often just takes one person to care. Love your writing.

I can't wait to see what happens with Hank, next! Everyone does love a good comeback story, and you are the one to write it, Joyce.
This was fabulous. Have any of your neighbors complained about the noise of tiny hooves clumping around?
You're the best!!
These essays are a delight
