oh geeze. just read. dealt with such a similar situation. Eileen Fisher pink sweater. replaced using Poshmark. but color and shape were wrong. the owner didn’t want to accept a return. so i had to go to….Poshmark adjudication. and my plea was accepted. joy! of course i never did replace the sweater.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. You must be brave and carry on. That's what the sweater would have wanted. Know too that it has gone to a better place and that some day you will be reunited with the sweater and all your other deceased knitwear.
I have trouble getting rid of clothes, not because of the "have you worn in in two years?" rule, but because I just LIKE them. One dress reminds me of Antigua where I bought it, another just has such pretty colors, another has a really good silky feel to the inside, another reminds me of Sicily where I bought it, or it's just DAMN PRETTY! But my closet is so full. Sigh. If only they were stretched or faded or stained. It would make it easier. Sigh.

Oh…how commiserate! My 19 yr old Eileen Fisher jeggings (remember those?) suddenly had worn knees and a shiny arselington. I am bereft.
I'm your sibling in the Eileen Fisher family. Welcome to come over to my place anytime and see if anything in my EF wardrobe will soothe your loss.
oh dearly beloved relics of the past . . .
May their memory be a blessing.
They look so cute together in that photo.

Grossberger, some comfort you are! Your wouldn't fit in an Eileen Fisher sweater until you'd been dead for a MONTH.
And that's being generous!
speaking of Stalin that "Churchill at War" doc is damn good....i believe Winston and Martha Stewart were made of some kind of titanium alloy

I can relate. (Nice illos, too.) And Eileen Fischer lives in the city I do. Or did. I have not checked on the state of her health.
