Teresa, Thank you. Now I just have to get it upstate. I was going to try my luck with Amtrak but heavy flooding Sunday night shut down service between Albany and New York. And I'm not about to bike it.
I know. We're watching the flooding. We're not at risk but rain may determine what routes we're allowed to travel. See what happens over next twenty-four hours.
Newsflash: I could not bear to part with it. Cannon Dale will Go to live with my summer landlady in Rhinebeck And I will have visitation rights. Thank you, Jenny! Now I just need some Rhinebeck bike pals.
Thank you! I never tried trike e-trikes, but they seem to be gaining in popularity. If you had space in your apartment or a garage, they might be something to consider. But the weight makes everything tough. My chain got undone last year when I was biking alone. I had to enlist a state trooper to help me get it back on.
Ah, Joyce, my hero once again--crossing, on two-wheels, the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge (something, happily, on my Top-10 Never Gonna Do Again Bucket List!)
Michael, Once again, I must disappoint you. I crossed the bridge years ago, on a Terry road bike, before they put in the so-called bike/pedestrian path, and it was fine. (Going up the hill to Saugerties, not so fine.) I found the new path so narrow last year that I aborted the mission and stayed in Dutchess County.
Not me, my 50+ son added an e-bike to his lifetime collection of 5 minute passions abandoned. He also just bought a super expensive non e-bike to ride up impossible hills in The Berkshires. I imagine this, too, will pass. I just use my legs to navigate around town. So far, they haven't exploded.
Sylvia, I actually still carry a torch for my E-bike. When I had it in a garage in Rhinebeck, it was a joy. It was just too big to schlep in and out of my apartment.
Train coming south had to stop and chug backwards to Rhinecliff. Flooding is worse on west side of River. I'd stay put.
You look sensational! Clearly an e-bike is the ultimate accessory.

amtrak already canceled tomorrow morning's service in the area.

75 or 76 isn't the "new" anything but 75 or 76.
Some segue. The nostrils ofPollard Browning of Sherman McCoy's co-op board, would quiver at the sight of your e-bike. Your back is better already?
Yup.
You got a helluva body for your age--or any age. Wish I could e-bike but I'd need to e-trike and they weigh even more. <sigh>
