Here in uptown New Rat City, rats are well fed and on garbage nights, look out! I stamp my feet to scare them away as I come up the block. Another great story!

As a writer I particularly enjoyed the breaking up the copy and changing the font part.

oy. it's been enforced where we live already...for a year or more? don't remember. no, plastic bags are not accepted, not in our city(cities each have slightly different policy)-otherwise very similar.

and very idiotic.

flies everywhere now, wild life behaves as if a perennial holiday, starting with rats....neighbors giving advice on how better to deal and to comply and some make their own compost already.

I’m laughing … to keep from crying. I care about the planet but all these regulations are a pain and a burden — and would have very little impact even if everyone followed them. Which they won’t.

Other cities do food waste disposal - with a once a week pickup in lidded plastic buckets. Seems to work.....

But then, I'm not a rat!!! :)

Once a week pickup won't work -- they'll be smelling Manhattan in Jersey.
