An Oldie, For the Newbies
They may be dead to you but you sure are alive to me, Joyce! Mwah!
has Ravishing Rachel appeared in other columns or am I remembering her from the 2012 Times' first run?
omg this is like "A Walk on the Moon"
gone terribly wrong heeeheee
Tony soprano, of a later generation then your mother, makes constant reference to the phrase "dead to me"
One for the ages/
Brilliant!
As usual.
Just terrific. Pre-Facebook Jews knew what to do! Cousin "Ravishing" clearly a courveh. I can even relate to your feeling your mother was Emily Post.
Poor Cousin Marvin! This is so funny, Joyce (as usual). 😂
The Jews also had a great pre-Facebook unfriending tradition which I always admired for its long-lasting grudge: portraits or photos (usually of relatives) turned to the wall. They didn't just take them down, they showed them off.
I especially loved the John Wayne line.
